Join Big MacD

You have an invite. This page explains what gets installed. Your invite code came separately; the app asks for it, and this page never does.

What it needs

• A Mac with Apple silicon (M1 or later). Intel Macs are not supported.
• macOS 14 Sonoma or later.
• About 10 GB of free disk space.

What gets installed

• The Big MacD menu-bar app, in your Applications folder in your home folder.
• A small Linux virtual machine (colima and Lima) that runs two containers: the satellite and its secure connection. The app keeps these tools in its own folder; it does not touch any Docker or Homebrew setup you already have.

Updates

The app checks for signed updates every 15 minutes and applies them by itself. It never restarts the satellite while a trade is open.

Keeping your Mac awake

The satellite only works while your Mac is awake. The app has a Keep awake switch, off by default; you choose.

Install

Open Terminal and paste:

curl -fsSL https://join.bigmacd.com/install | sh

The script checks your Mac, downloads the app, verifies its signature and opens it. You can read the script first.
